✝ Peace and Good
in Christ
Dear
Companions
Greetings from the
Team and me..! Here's a little update on a couple of our latest
happenings and missions. As many of you know, Christian unity is a
major issue to us. Please understand, our motivation for Christian
Unity is
not political but evangelistic.
We believe what Jesus said to His Father...
"Father make them one,
SO THAT THE WORLD WILL BELIEVE THAT YOU SENT ME."
We want to see more and more people BELIEVE in Jesus, just like you
and me. So in Bath (England), we organised a meeting for Church
Leaders from all denominations, to come together and hear a joint
presentation from Matteo (RCC) and myself, about the
Post-Protestant era
and what that means to us as 'divided' Christians, each on our own
mission, disconnected from others doing the same work of evangelism as
us..! It's
really time we all stood together for Jesus..!
The event was a real 'eye/heart-opener'
to many. We had all kinds of reactions... but mainly... repentance..!
People (leaders) were in tears, some got excited, some offended, some
even came with tough questions but at the end of the event, told me
that their questions were
MEANINGLESS in context
of the BIG picture.
God did some deep work and we now have the opportunity to do a larger
event to reach MORE people. It was a good day..! Thanks to Bath City
Church for the FREE use of their venue..!
Fresh Expressions
is a interdenominational organisation established by the Anglican
Church to reach out to post-modern man with the Gospel of Christ in a
way that relates to society today.
Fresh Expressions
is interested in keeping the Gospel message the same but presenting it
in different ways, this would include Church in Coffee Shops, Church
in Gyms, Church in the Office at Work... basically Church anywhere and
in any way it works best. We established a good working relationship
with Bishop Graham Cray (centre photo, middle), Head of
Fresh Expressions
and then took along our Roman Catholic Evangelical Charismatic Leader,
Matteo Calisi (centre photo, right), to meet Graham. Wow, did we get
surprised..!
When we, from 'different'
Churches begin to speak about Evangelising TOGETHER... ALL WALLS FALL
DOWN...!
You know, it's a proven fact, the quickest way to unite divided
people, is to find them a common enemy...! ALL Christians share BOTH a
common Enemy and a common MISSION. We have our bread buttered on BOTH
sides. We (Emiliana and I) sat back and watched God do what He does
best. We count it a privilege to have been a part of this spontaneous
Partnership between the Anglican and Catholic Church.
So in closing, to all
of you on this 'crazy' ... godly ... inspiring journey,
THANK YOU for being
our Companions.
Your prayers, friendships, emails, phone calls, money etc etc, all
make this kind of change happen.
Please keep us in your
prayers for next week, we're in Italy presenting the need to care for
the Orphans of
Acres of Love
in South Africa. May God move upon the hearts of all who come to our
event.
Your Brother & Sister,
Emiliana & +Tony
