Partnership
We are a “Community
of Companions”.
We refer to members of our Community as “COMPANIONS”, simply
because we are companions on a common journey towards
Christ-likeness.

Membership to our
Community does not conflict with or replace membership to your
local Church. We exist to “add” to your Church-Life in assisting
you, as friends on the same journey. We encourage each Ark
Community Companion to find and join a local congregation
wherever possible.
Consider us as the
vegetables on your dinner plate, ONE of the various sources of
nutrients that you need, but not the total source, by any means! We
all need a variety of positive influences in our lives, and The Ark Community offers itself as only ONE of the many.
What is a Companion?
- “Companions” are
Active Ark Community Members. By
this we mean anyone who relates to us and the Community in
any of the following ways:
Common pilgrimage
– Many Christians are seeking a more committed approach to their
Christianity. This has been recognized as a worldwide phenomenon.
Many Christians all over the world are discontent with the ‘status
quo’ of Christendom and are seeking a deeper walk, without having
to leave their current local Church. We must learn to “add to”
and not to “replace”. Our needs, interests and spiritual
growth continue to advance; this often leads people to become
discontent with their current local Church, and therefore “replace”
it by finding another to go to. This causes a perpetual lifestyle
of “Church-hopping”. Rather than replacing the Church, we should
considering “adding to” our local Church. By this we mean,
find additional groups, Communities, Welfares, projects and study
groups etc to affiliate to.
What you learn in
these “other” affiliations can be taken back to your local Church,
causing a cross-pollination of spirituality – causing benefit to all
parties – This is precisely what we desire to offer all those
considering joining our Community – We are a platform of
“cross-pollination” a point of CONVERGENCE.
We seek to ADD not
to REPLACE.

Christians are
looking to form smaller more intimate groups, in order to seek
Christ in a new way, a deeper way…. a more committed way! Many of
these new ‘groups’ can be compared with the religious orders of the
past, similar to those found within the traditional Churches, like
the Franciscans etc.
Simultaneously,
there is an ‘awakening’ in the search to return to our early
Christian Apostolic faith. I have heard some refer to this as a
return to Orthodoxy – we have gone full-circle. Many of us are
studying early Church history to rediscover our roots and early
beginnings. It is as if we are looking back to see our way
forward! This has lead many ‘seekers’ back to Celtic
Christianity, as the Celtic people developed the Anglican Christian
Church, without any influence from Rome, until 596AD when Pope
Gregory the Great sent St. Augustine (of St. Andrew’s Monastery), to
England to become the first Archbishop of Canterbury in 597AD.
Not only is there a
desire to return to a united ‘simple’ rule of faith, but also a
desire to rediscover and experience the great traditions that we
modern-day Christians may have thrown by the wayside. We speak of
Apostolic Tradition, sacraments and liturgy! For many, these have
become ‘evils’, when in fact they were instituted by Christ Himself.
If one is serious about studying the early Church, you will find
that they had a very deep appreciation of the sacraments and
expressed their sincere worship of Christ through the liturgy. In
fact, the liturgy in itself is the message. Our actions (liturgy),
speak louder than words!
There are millions
of Christians all over the world in all kinds of Churches looking to
rediscover this
Converging
of the great Christian traditions. We gain more of Christ,
without loosing anything but ourselves!
This
is our common pilgrimage; you are invited to join us!

Common
Mission –
Our common mission is a simple one;
To Live Christ beyond
our Church walls!
In particular, our Community has decided to care for the South
African Orphans and take up the challenge as Ministers of
Reconciliation ……….. ALL OF US!
We have committed
ourselves to live a prayerful life, reflecting daily upon God’s
Word, the Holy Scriptures and living life sacramentaly, by this we
mean, “being Jesus to a hurting world.” … “For God so love the
WORLD, He gave His only begotten Son”. (John 3:16)
Prayer support
– All that we do individually and as a Community we do under the
umbrella and covering of continuous prayer. We need every prayer
available to make straight the way before us. The work of
reconciling the Church and saving Children that Society has cast
away is in direct opposition to every evil spirit, and we need all
the prayer worriers we can muster!
Please add us to
your prayer list?
Ministerial support
– We welcome any kind of support in any form. We need much to get
the job done, and together we are always able to succeed, it’s
when we stand alone we fail!
Many Companions
have ministered with us, side by side. We are people who put our
gifts together for a combined effort. We have those who offer
translations skills, part-time Administrators, Interpreters,
Webmasters and various others offer that which they have been given.
Financial support
– Last but not least!
For those of you
that desire to support the Ministry of our Community,
i.e. Orphan care, Church Unity and Church Planting, we accept
financial gifts directly into our Italian, UK and South African Bank
Accounts.
We send out monthly
“Receipt Letters” for all donations received, but need to advise
you, that as of present we are unable to offer you any tax benefits
for your giving, this however should change in the not to distant
future.
We are many who put
our “little” together, to make a large lump! …..No donation is too
small, someone is lying to you!
